The Bantom Who gave the soldiers hope.
It was world war I between 1914 and 1918 when a group of soldiers from New Zealand travelled over to France to fight. When they arrived they were hiding and protecting themselves in the trenches and with their guns. While they were there a soldier named Arthur found a Bantam. He then named it Bertha, Arthur had named the Bantam of his niece and decided to keep it after the war as it needed someone to look after it. During the war the Bantam laid eggs and also gave the soldiers hope at the time of war. At the time the soldiers built a little house for the Bantam as the other soldiers started to like her. After the war back at home in New Zealand arthur then decided to tell his niece about the Bantam during the war, Who gave all the soldiers hope at the time.
